Wordsmith Wednesday: Shoe Edition
in honor of the massive debacle related to my shoe(s) this morning, i thought it might be fun to have a shoe-themed wordsmith wednesday. i mean, why not. right?
what exactly is wordsmith wednesday, you ask? it’s a chance for you to come up with a word that will, in turn, be put on to a loverly little recycled notebook.
what’s in it for you? the chance to be clever, snarky, witty, thoughtful, sweet, or funny. and if your word gets picked for the week, i will send you you’re very own copy. for free. as in, i’m giving it away.
and in case you need some inspiration, i thought it might help to tell you about the debacle. just in case you didn’t catch it on twitter.
while walking running to a meeting this morning, my favorite pair o’ boots had a little accident. as in, the heel of the right shoe broke in half. but it didn’t quite fall off. so i had to shuffle the entire way there, praying that the heel didn’t come all the way off. because that would have just been miserable [ever tried walking with a broken shoe?].
of course, i had to walk back to the office. where i tried to crazy glue the heel back on. i’m sure you can guess how well that worked. yeah. it didn’t. heard some good stories from coworkers about the same thing. must admit — i’m pretty thankful i didn’t actually hurt anything more than my pride.
of course i had a few other meetings this afternoon [i believe we call that murphy's law]. and just couldn’t do that on a broken shoe. ended up finding not one, but two awesome pairs of shoes to replace the above-mentioned broken pair.
all in all, i did pretty well. fuzzy math and all. 1 pair broken shoe = 2 pair NEW shoes.
now, back to the regularly scheduled contest.
this time there is an itty-bitty stipulation, or theme, if you will: shoes. anything related to the story above will work. you can pick words from the story if you feel so moved. just keep it related. and maybe even share why it’s related. i do love embarrassing stories.
and if you need some other ideas, you can check out my flickr page or etsy shop. better yet, check out the previous giveaways {here, here, here, here, here, and well…you get the point}.
oh, and in case you are an overachiever and have more than one word or idea, why not submit them all? you can enter as many times as you like, with as many words as you like.
yeah, it’s that kind of contest.
and now for the official sounding mumbo-jumbo:
the contest begins on wednesday of every week, and will end the following tuesday at midnight ET. meaning, this week the contest starts today, december 2nd and ends on tuesday, december 8th at midnight ET. capiche?
