I Really Wish…

i knew how to sew.
looking through etsy at all of the gorgeous handmade tops, dresses, and bags has made me feel the need to own a sewing machine. and learn how to sew. pronto.
and then. i want to make each and every one of these things. oh, and these too.

31 Things: Teach a Class

i kind of forgot that i got to knock this one off the list. best part? i can actually check it off twice! well, once for teaching at wildcard. and another for doing a private book party.
not much else to say about it, other than it was fantastic. and that the energy of the class was fantabulous. {yep, so good that real words just can’t capture it.}
and…that’s all i have to say about that.

The Business of Craft

Learn How To Take Your Business to the Next Level!
The Pittsburgh Craft Collective (PCC) is offering a variety of business and marketing workshops to help local crafters learn how to take their business to the next level. The event, “The Business of Craft: Workshops and Roundtables” will be held on July 24th, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Union Project, in Pittsburgh’s Highland Park neighborhood.
The Business of Craft will offer workshops on Business Basics, Wholesaling Your Work, Social Media, Craft Show 101, and Blogging Your Passion.
Facilitators and Panelists include Tara Gentile of Scoutiegirl.com, Carrie Nardini of I Made It! Market, Alissa Martin of Pavement, Lindsay Patross of I Heart PGH, Michelle Hammons of Burgh Baby, Mundania Horvath of Steeltown Anthem, as well as other local crafters, business owners, bloggers, and craft show organizers.

All Stitched Up @ Wildcard

Introduction to Bookbinding:
This class will be an introduction to two basic bookbinding techniques: stab binding and pamphlet stitch. Individuals will be able to make up to 5 different soft-covered books during this class. All materials will be included.

Bio:
Emily has been surrounded by creativity her entire life. She was turned on to bookmaking in 2006 while fighting boredom at her day job. Emily is a self-taught book artist with a little formal training thrown in. She is also the sole-proprietor of Subu, Inc., an independent business where Emily is able to sell her handbound books, notepads and recycled notebooks.
