to say that i am excited about this weeks giveaway is a definite understatement. it’s more like thrilled, giddy, and…well. you get the point.
our featured crafter today is the lovely erica of ericalyn designs. erica has been creating her wonderful items on etsy since 2006.
now. you might be wondering: why on earth is she so excited?
may i present to you this weeks item:
these bright and colorful boots have a geometric pattern on the outer fabric, a dark brown inner lining and an olive green soft velor sole. they are sized to fit up to approximately 6 mos and are perfect for a baby shower gift or to welcome a new baby home.
as someone who has 2 nephews, 3 friends currently pregnant, 4 friends with newborns and young babies, and the plethora of friends with kids…i think i have the baby gift giving thing down pat. and these will definitely be added to the list of things to buy.
and the best part of all…you can have them custom made! meaning, you get to pick what they look like. amazing. that is, if you can’t find something in her shop that you like already. she sells boots, pacifier clips, hair accessories, and more.

Cute shoes! My favorite baby gifts to give are handknitted blankets or booties. I am due this March with my first, so I haven’t had my shower yet, but I am looking forward to all the cute, tiny clothes. They are irresistible when you see them in stores!

I always thought burp cloths were he best gift. You can really go through a lot of them in a day.

There seems to be a baby boom. I have a friend due this weekend, a cousin due next week, and THREE more friends due in February alone. Another due in May (due on my wedding day!) and please, for the love of my sanity, not let me be next in line

My favorite gift was a handmade dress that my mother-in-law made when she was pregnant…but then she had two boys. She tucked it away and we happend to have a little girl, the first grandchild!

Aside from the big, overflowing, cutsie baby baskets (is this a southern thing?) – I like giving a keepsake: a baby bracelet, a nice silver frame, something impractical and that can’t be bought at 2 a.m. at Wal-Mart. And, a nice pair of pajamas for mom.
Oh, how lovely! My favorite gift is a hand-made sweater (provided I get it done in time), and then food after the baby is born.

I love all of the baby boots esp the red and white boots and the red striped. My favorite baby gift: a blanket specially selected by my husband for the baby. He agonized over which blanket he should choose. I was quite funny!

The best baby gift I got was a pair of quilts a friend made for my twins.
I love to give the mother-to-be a gift as well as they baby. Sometimes I choose practical if the mommy seems to be the practical type, but I often love to get a gorgeous and delicate little outfit-the kind you save and wistfully sigh over after baby has quickly outgrown it. If the mom plans on nursing, I like to get products that helped me. Unfortunately, most of these products were acquired in the wee hours of the night with intense pain. Or the number of a great lactation consultant. They are awesome!
My favorite baby gift is DEFINITELY a baby carrier of some sort – sling, wrap, etc.! Love ‘em!

My favorite gift to give new moms is rather unconventional (perhaps why I like giving it)… I order new address labels made up with all the family names, including the newest addition!
