31 Things

i saw this great post over at hula seventy and knew that i had to come up with something for myself. as someone who loves lists, and checking things off said list, this project was meant for me.

so what is this list? every year on her birthday, andrea from hula seventy makes a list of things to do before she turns another year older and wiser. and it looks like she has inspired quite a few other bloggers, including michelle from michelle my belle {see here and here}

my hope is that by posting this, you can help keep me accountable for all of the things on there. deal? i have until august 29th.

31 things to do before i turn 32

1. take more pictures {working on it! done.}
2. learn how to use my new camera {done.}
3. blog more {definitely working on. posting more over at reluctantveggie.com and sustain}
4. write down at least one thing a day that i’m grateful for (aka the gratitude jar – sort of like this) {have done fairly well, bought a book to help do better}
5. travel on a whim
6. go to seattle {done! feb 18-22}
7. see sugarland in concert {working on tickets for the May 14th show done!!}
8. make bagels and photograph the experience {do rye pretzel count? if so, done!}
9. embroider a linen napkin set {in progress, 8 out of 12 done!! done! }
10. start an herb garden {growing a sweet little basil plant inside. so far, so good! it died. }
11. take a sewing class at cut & sew studios {birthday present. going on the NEW list.}
12. attend a lecture on something interesting {attended a lecture in philly, though not sure it was interesting…went to a talk by Nick Hall on the Mind-Body Connection}
13. keep a visual journal (again) {started, and continuing to fill}
14. take a dance class
15. do yoga regularly {does pilates count? if so, i go every tuesday.}
16. learn to speak another language
17. travel to another country
18. go antiquing and thrifting {done! thrifting: 1/30; antiquing: 2/15}
19. learn how to make jam {done. made quince jam}
20. send five surprise gifts
21. learn how to make temporary tattoos {got some good info in philly}
22. silk screen something at AIR
23. spend a fun weekend with my mom {done! went to philadelphia and nyc}
24. lazy weekday breakfast at coca cafe with the hubster
25. submit something to a magazine {done! submitted photos to GREEN Retailer magazine}
26. see a broadway show {done! saw billy elliot. on broadway}
27. go out to a fancy dinner {done! went to typhoon with the hubster and mama}
28. visit a farmers market {done! 1/16/10}
29. have stamps made
30. teach a class {7/21/10 and 7/22/10}
31. go strawberry picking {done! and it was blueberries. 7/10/10}
